They must have improved freezer sprays.
I tried the technique over 20 years ago but with no success. I used freezer sprays used in electronics.
Had a broken bolt on the intake manifold (see Broken Bolt thread) I heard of Loctite Freeze so I applied it to the broken bolt waited 1 minutes put the easy out in and it virtually fell out using light pressure.
Now its a permanent part of my toolkit, this stuff really works no heating with torches....
So if the nuts look rusty then freeze the bastards off.

Best stuff I ever used on seized/rusted fasteners is Chemsearch "Yield". I call it miracle fluid. An industrial product, expensive, but worth it. You may not find it in hardware stores or auto. stores. Usually stocked by engineer's suppliers like Blackwood's.

Chemsearch stuff still available Brian ?
I haven't seen it for 20 years, back when I was an apprenstice. We used to use a range of their products, from yield to their anti-seize to Resist-X which is brilliant at protecting machined parts and castings from corrosion while in storage.
It is good stuff. Except some silly bugger had his finger just in the spray without realising and froze the tip of his finger!! sore!!
yep but it can be a bit narky on nuts.. its best reserved for studs and bolts that are in recessed threads.
oh its also good at chilling beer.

Seen the adds, been meaning to ask if anybodys used it.
Living in the country with no real mechanical back up available locally I tend to be real carefull when undoing stuff that may snap, brake fluid is my favorite weapon.Once busted out comes the mig if possible.
How much do they peddle the stuff for, your first unborn child I suspect.
Will get a can for the next time I need to freeze my nuts.
Thanks
Andrew

you get about 100 shots out of a can and a can is worth between $17 for the "I'll take a pallet please" bulk order up to $32 if you buy it at the pricey shops.
