    Defender windscreen leak

I own a 06 defender that has just started leaking through the foam seal beneath the winscreen.

    Any ideas on a fix.

A leak actually through the foam seal is unlikely (although anything is possible). The most likely leak is through the mounting bolt for the bracket (or hinge) at the bottom corner. These are held by a large screw from the inside, and it is not uncommon for the gasket under the bracket to leak and allow water along the thread into the interior. (it seems to be a high pressure area, and the actual sealing area for the gasket is pretty small - took me a long time to find the problem with mine, and it turned out to be a creased gasket). Consider either replacing the gasket or sealing both sides of it with silicone gasket material.(or both)

    Defender Leaks

I've replaced the gasket on my window brackets but I'm not convinced that its not still leaking. After the rain we have had in the last few days anything would leak and it always seems to happen @ night.

The other spot to look at is where the door seal goes around the "kink" in the bodywork at top of guard height. It will leak there.

2006? - It's under warranty - take it to the dealer and let them worry about it. They will probably replace the entire windscreen, widscreen surround, roof and who knows what-else.
