Mick, recently went through this myself. Become expensive for me as snapped an easy out in the stud I was trying to remove.
If you manage to get the stud out easily, you only need a new manifold gasket, new stud (couple of $) and more than likely you will need to machine the manifold. I drilled the #1 and #5 cylinder holes in the manifold to a slightly larger size to allow for future movement.
Machining cost me $100, can't tell you the cost of the gasket as I have a firend in the parts industry.

Fuel economy seems to be back as well as before I seemed to be chewing through the juice. Also seems the power and torque is there when I have my air con on - before I would notice quite a drop in power with aircon on and the engine would sound loud but really not do anything.
