    TDi 200 Query

    Does the TDi 200 have the same fuel injection pump as the 300 TDi, if so can it be tweaked the same as a TDi 300, does the 200 have an intercooler, is there a ZF auto available for the 200, does the 200 bolt up to a series III gearbox and fit the engine bay, are the heads interchangable, thanks in advance, Regards Frank.

    Same injector pump (BOSCH VE), different injectors.

    Can be tweaked just the same, has intercooler.

    (ZF) Auto versions were available in the UK but not here.

    Will bolt up to a Series 1-3 box. AFAIK. But disco and defender versions have the turbo in a different spot, and serious mods to the turbo dump pipe are needed to fit a disco 200Tdi in a series.

    I got caught on this topic before- generally not much of the 200tdi is usable on the 300tdi. All the bits, whilst similar, are not interchangeable. As for bolting one up to a series - yes: Buy the Jan 2008 'Landrover Owner International" magazine. In Dec 07 they started to do a conversion, the first installment was just removing all the bits from a donor Disco.

    Had a look in my manual last night and it lists a different injector pump to the 300tdi???

    I had a look at mine today and it looks like the one in a 300 but how can I tell.

    And yes you can only use a Defender 200tdi in a series other wise you need to move the turbo if using a disco version

    Definitely both Bosch VE - but there may be some minor differences - also, some (OS) 300's were fitted with some extra electrics on the pump.

    I have seen a couple of pics of disco 200's fitted to series - with the turbo in place. They did it by either chopping the firewall, or cutting off the dump-pipe and making a very twisty one which just clears (firewall would get nice and hot either way...).
