I've got one of Jase's intercoolers - look back a few pages in the accessories ( I think) section of the markets and you find it. It's a direct drop in replacement and it gives a little extra to the Tdi. I got mine 2nd hand, and it was because my original intercooler was leaking and in need of replacement. Was it worth it - yes. Would I buy one new - yes when compared to a LR replacement part. Drawbacks - none. Power gains - makes going up hills just that little bit easier: Won't transform the tdi into a sports car, but you will notice that you change gears at different points. Alternative aftermarket intercoolers ( Like what you might find at Supercr#p) might fit OK behind the grill, but the plumbing will be difficult. I haven't seen anyone else offering 300Tdi intercoolers around, although I could be wrong.

I've fitted a few of Jases I/C's, and have good results. Don't forget, standard Tdi fuelling you won't notice a whole lot of difference. I have refuelled both of these vehicles and one is running 17 to 19 Psi now also, it fairly flies and the EGT's are well acceptable.
Worth it if you want to tweak the engine for sure.

anyone done any inlet/outlet/ambient temps on Jases' I/C ?

I have some stock numbers written down somewhere....

PWR also do a 300Tdi I/C, but you have to cut the radiator support, etc to fit it as it uses a wider core. It also has much shallower (fabricated) tanks to get the maximum face area possible compared to the OE one.
Jase's is excellent as it's totally drop in, no mods required.

How does it go with the auto oil cooler in front of it?

As I've converted mine to automatic using a Discovery gearbox and equipment was wondering if Jase's intercooler just further forward and would screw up on the auto oil cooler in front of my normal intercooler...

    hi
have a look in reviews (next to markets) above.
I didnt notice a huge difference in performance with the unit..it perhaps hangs on uphill better than before...I had already had the pump adjusted when I fitted it.

You may get oevrheating issues of you have loads of accesories bolted on the front.

my brother has a 30tdi disco with a huge allisport intercooler, modified fuel pump etc etc... and a winch, and that did overheat.

Solved it by converting it to take a td5 radiator... A new standard one may well have solved it too. this was in england so not that hot either!

except that Jase's and PWR's i/c's bolt in place of the stock unit......
they use a thicker/taller and in PWR's case, wider core.

I'm considering one also but not so much for power but wondering if it will make a discernable difference to EGTs ? I can hit 700 degrees far too easily without towing anything and already have to be careful. My fuel pump is already tweaked.

I see Will made a post on another thread where he believed his max EGTs dropped by 15 degrees after fitting the uprated IC. Does anyone else have stats/opinions on the possible EGT advantages of a bigger IC ?

Dropping the intake temp does drop the exhaust temp. Predicting exactly how much gets complicated. A 1 degree in = 1 degree out rule of thumb is used by many, but it doesn't account for the increased density. I believe the actual reduction in EGT's will often be greater than the reduction in intake temps.
