I need to remove my all my sump/diff/tcase/gbox plugs and i need a 12mm squarehead socket, but can only find 11. Is 12 an irregular size?

If as you say it is a Male (sticking out) head then a shifter will do, with only 4 corners to grab on a socket will slip.
However if you are talking about Female head (an "inny") a 1/2" extension bar (short) or a breaker bar, not a good idea to use a ratchet bar to undo tight nuts or bolts, use the breaker bar then use the ratchet, Regards Frank.

    Thanks guys.

Tank - the socket I needed was male. The plug is female.

Now I need a 3/8 to 1/2 adapter to fit my torque wrench
