Thread: What oil!!!!

I've never filled mine, but I've been told a couple of times to absolutely use engine oil. More guru people will respond.

Castrol VMX-80. Did wonders for mine.

Castrol Syntrans is better. Synntrans in the transmission, VMX80 in the transfer.

Philip,
I've tried a number of engine oils in my LT95. All of them had a change in performance between hot and cold, and even summer and winter. VMX80 has made the box quieter by far than all the others, and shifting is more consistent regardless of season/running temp. I tried it after watching a long thread on LT95 recommended oils on this forum, and have never looked back.

I need to run the same oil in both, because they are leaking between the two

After doing lots of reading and asking lots of questions I am using Castrol VMX-80 also, and in both boxes. I have only recently installed the LT95 after swapping out an auto so I have nothing to judge my choice by yet. Still working 3mths later!! Bit noisy but I think thats just wear.
