    Post 110 Puma Alarm Sensor

    Hi chaps,

now that I have the new fender I had better make sure of some stuff before I aproach our local stealers.

    1. The manual states that there is supposed to be a motion sensor on the
alarm system. Dealer who sold me the van says that is only in the UK
spec. Do you gys also get this sensor. My mate has one in his 2004 TD5
    but not me.

    2. The one rear door needs a bit of a slam to stay shut - should they be
forced to adjust something like this for free?

    3. Wheel alignment seems to pull quite a bit left even though dealer says
alignment was checked before sale - I would like to rather get an
independent check and give results to them to rectify if needed. I only
drove a few km's on the highway before I noted it but was at 4am on
route to C.Town so could not return to sales dealership.

    4. Rear luggage door when sprayed with hose leaks live bldy sieve at top seal

anyway, those of you who r lucky enough to have the new fender; would apretiate some advise.

    Thanks

    Heh James,

I don't know about the motion sensor I am fairly sure I don't have one but I still haven't figured out the alram system yet, it seems to have a strange mode that sounds the horn if you turn the engine off but don't take the keys out and then try to start the engine???? I am just happy it has central locking

As for the rear door we took ours back cause it was really hard to open, they adjusted it with a smile. Perfect.

I'd get them to fix the water leek and the steering, ours does not pull at all, tracks beautifully.

We have had some trouble with the door latches not holding the doors open and also the hand brake warning light flickering on, so back to the dealers for them to fix it again soon.

In saying all of this, it just gives the car a personality (which we love) and the dealer have been very very good.

    Cheers,

Hello James - I had the windows down on my Puma Defender a while back and must have sat on the key fob and activated the alarm - because I put my hand in through the driver's window and the horn started blasting - scared the crap out of me (not to mention the cat). I reckon this suggests we get the alarm motion sensor!

Mine too had a steering alignment problem when I first got it - I thought it might have been road camber but finally came to the conclusion that it was out - told the dealer - they sounded very surprised - but found it was out and fixed it - perfect now.

My back door (and all the others) close fine so I'd be getting them to sort that for you - you've just bought a brand new vehicle.

Best of luck with it - I have not had any major dramas with mine in 9500km.
