    hose clamps

went to change the coolant in our falcon and discovered the hose clamps do not have a slot for the screw driver!!!!!! i kid you not

never seen this before, are they vandle proof or something

does anybody know the reason for this?

its a pain as i now have to go and buy some hose clamps

    They use a socket....

Just as people should to do a clamp to proper tension!

no.....they actually have an aluminium cap over the head.......
it must be some type of shear bolt.......if you lever this off with a screw driver
or a pair of pliers....you will then be able to use a screw driver or socket on it.......

yes....i have a falcon and thought the same thing myself........

They must follow that theory - the owner is only meant to touch the things that are yellow. Oil dip stick, windscreen washer bottle, radiator surge tank and so on.
