I haven't ordered them yet, but I was pretty sure that you could order them as 24 spline (diff) to 36 spline (CV). Well at least I'm hoping so. Might have to give him a call tomorrow to check, or this may screw up my current plan!

you mean 24/32 and no they dont do them only 24/23
you can convert to an aeu2522 cv or a r606665 cv out of a range rover, these both are nolonger available as genuine, only aftermarket... and from what i have heard there isnt really a good one to choose from so may as well get the cheapies and get 2 pair
the 110cv (aeu2522)needs new driveflange and i think a bush as well, i think the range rover cv(r606665) will drop in....
the r606665 is a 2 peice cv where the stub shaft is splined into the bell with the famous 10 spline so this becomes the weakest link... some comp guys use this as a fuse that is easiest and cheapest to replace

Bugger! I was hoping that wasn't the case.
And yeah, I menat 32. Sorry, long day!
Might have to stick with the standard axles for the time being then - definetely not what I had in mind.
If you're careful the CV's will be ok, but be careful. Me... If it's an option, I'd get a set of Longs (which I don't think are being sold anymore) or Ashcroft CV's which come with axles. I'm not sure what the Ashcrofts cost, but the longs were really good value in my opinion.
I thought that the Rover Longfields and the Longtracks were the same???
Longfield have removed the Rover parts from their website and Rovertracks has listed them as unavailable. I can only assume by reading this that Ashcroft has the rights to them.
This is what the Rovertracks website says:
Quote:
Longtracks CV kits are out of stock (1/16/08) They will be for about 3-5 months. It seems that the USA Manufacturer of the best and least expensive CV kit for LR’s has chosen not to make them for Rovertracks any longer. Bobby and I have both tried to change their minds but it seems they are more interested in selling to a more expensive competitor (at his request I have heard). Fear not as I am working with a new manufacturer that will make the product just as strong at the same low prices. This process will take a few months but we’ll be back!!! Thanks for your patience! Keith

Rovertracks has developed a kit using the time tested Tech of the Longfield Chrome Alloy/300M CV joint. We provide 4340 24 spline axles and CV’s for your ABS Type Rover.
This is a “drop-in" kit, that includes Longfield designed and built CV joints, and 4340 24-spline front axle shafts. No modification is required. Installation is as simple as changing broken CV’s (you should have plenty of experience with that, using stock Rover CVs).
Well I'm going to have to change the CV's. Had a good look at it today and it makes sense to keep going ahead. For info - you can get the 24/32 axles, however the likelihood of the CV's lasting are another matter.
For the time being I'm going to convert to the AEU2522 CV's - but do the dodgy and use some e-bay items for the time being. Then in a couple of months time I'll go to the better (dearer) items and it should all hopefully be bulletproof.
For your info:
$282.70 - Front axle short
$403.70 - Front axle long
$379.50 - Kit no.4 - Drive flanges and bushes to convert to new CV
$300.00 - Hi-flow ARB air compressor + tyre inflation kit
$1,097.00 - LRD128 ARB Front Diff Lock
$1,150.00 - RD20 ARB Rear Diff Lock
For those that didn't know - I already run the Maxi-Drive axles and drive flanges in the rear end. Also running the Maxi-Drive low range gear set, and Discovery High Range. Sooooooooo, hopefully the uni-joints are now the weakest part of the driveline! :D
I've also just been quoted $858 for a 2" lift comprising shocks, springs and a steering dampner. That's running the EFS gear. I know it's not the best stuff, but I'll give it a go and see how it goes. Unless someone knows of better stuff and cheaper - cheaper being the word at the moment for anyone that's done the sums of above. 5k - disappears way to quickly now days!!!
Good news though - if the parts get here quick enough I just might be able to get it together for Cooma! :D
There's cheap and............, you know what I mean, I bought Bilsien shocks and kept ny old shocks, because when the Bilsteins wear out I can have them rebuilt for the cost of a Cheap set of shocks (while they're being rebuilt put the old shocks on for a week or so), in the mean time I get a superb ride, Regards Frank.
In a way...they're currently out of stock in US (there are in Italy),they should be back in some months after R&D.
BTW,a couple of carnage pics sent to me a few days ago...
Curiously, both these Ashcroft CVs broke in the same way it seems.
Sorry for the red arrows in the 2nd pic,I didn't do that.
Michele, that's interesting. Tusker broke one the other week, breaking the outer stub.
