Well I'm going to have to change the CV's. Had a good look at it today and it makes sense to keep going ahead. For info - you can get the 24/32 axles, however the likelihood of the CV's lasting are another matter.
For the time being I'm going to convert to the AEU2522 CV's - but do the dodgy and use some e-bay items for the time being. Then in a couple of months time I'll go to the better (dearer) items and it should all hopefully be bulletproof.
For your info:
$282.70 - Front axle short
$403.70 - Front axle long
$379.50 - Kit no.4 - Drive flanges and bushes to convert to new CV
$300.00 - Hi-flow ARB air compressor + tyre inflation kit
$1,097.00 - LRD128 ARB Front Diff Lock
$1,150.00 - RD20 ARB Rear Diff Lock
For those that didn't know - I already run the Maxi-Drive axles and drive flanges in the rear end. Also running the Maxi-Drive low range gear set, and Discovery High Range. Sooooooooo, hopefully the uni-joints are now the weakest part of the driveline!
I've also just been quoted $858 for a 2" lift comprising shocks, springs and a steering dampner. That's running the EFS gear. I know it's not the best stuff, but I'll give it a go and see how it goes. Unless someone knows of better stuff and cheaper - cheaper being the word at the moment for anyone that's done the sums of above. 5k - disappears way to quickly now days!!!
Good news though - if the parts get here quick enough I just might be able to get it together for Cooma!
