I guess Goldey you might as well take out the seat belts , remove two of the four brakes, and dont forget to wear a helmet, if you are going to apply your brand of logic.

Since you brought it up Andrew....my brand of logic extends to not having to rely on safety items alone but also using the grey matter that God blessed us all with but precious few utilise to even a portion of it's ability.

Thanks for pointing that out though.....

I do agree So many drivers get in Switch on and switch off, so really just having a lend.

Althhough vehicular safety has progressed enormously, quality hasn't.

For those of us residing in NSW, I am chasing the technical branch of the RTA for an "in writing" ruling on the issue. My interest lies in removing the airbag so as to be able to install a non-airbag compliant bullbar.

Will let you know how I go.

    Cheers

    Will be watching with interest

    Update

The friendly RTA guy on the "Technical" hotline didn't have a clue.... Instead he faxed me a list of Engineering Signatories around Australia that I could ask.....

Hhhmmm!! I thought going to the source of the information would be better than asking for a ruling from guys who have to work in accordance with the said rules. I think I was fobbed off....

Anyway, will be ringing some of the guys listed in Newy this arvo to see if any info can be leaked without me paying through the nose. I don't mind paying for expertise, but only if I'm committed to doing it. At the moment still in the investigation stage.

    Cheers

    Goldey

Did you ask him how he got his job?? They are the authority and must have the answers by law. If he did not know off the top of his head he should have been able to find out and get back to you.
I would be asking to speak to his boss.
