best price i have so far is 290

but chief of finance department is looking at me oddly so i may not procure some just yet :P

Looking at tyres myself so this is what I found and got prices for in the 235/85 16 size in Brisbane. Only called a few different places and if I got more than one quote then I have quoted the lowest one. None varied by more than $6ea though.

Cooper STT Armor Tek $282ea

Bridgestone Dueller M/T D673 $277ea

BFG KM M/T $274ea

Goodyear MT/R $272ea

Wait and see what happens with my engine thenwill get back to you. Depends on what stage you want it in.
I have a stock t700/lt95 that was recoed about 4000k ago, but its a 27slpine and i don't have the converter and a handbrake lever or:-
I have a worked T700 with low stall 6 bolt converter (1000rpm) and all the good stuff that is behind my chev diesel and LT95.

I have not done enough km's yet to form an opinion but so far no real noise on the highway, feel a very slight 'rumble' at very slow speed,have not gone off road, yet am hoping to over easter

Had a set a bit over four years ago, and the overall grip was better when I went to BFG MT's, particularly on bitumen in the wet. In the wet, the Bridgeys could be interesting

Overall the Bridgestone MT was a quality tyre, and compounding may have changed in the intervening years.

In Europe there is a far wider range in 255/85, but you are limited AFAIK to these three in Australia.

I'm about to replace the BFG's with the Maxxis. Two reasons, it became harder for my tyre bloke to obtain BFG, and the Maxxis are significantly cheaper. It will be interesting to see how they go after two sets of BFG's.
