Unless you have the latest maps, then you might as well not waste your money as they will cost quite a bit. The MS5000 was good in it time, about $3000 worth but that was in 2000/2001, but 8 years later it's not as good as the middle of the range units you get for $400, and it needed the on-board gyro etc to keep track due to the poor signals, lack of satellites etc.
Nowadays, there are multiple GPS satellites and if you use an external aerial, you should have no problem getting enough signal even in forest country. My Navman works well, cost me $400 and had the latest maps when I bought it, (cost $175 to upgrade to new maps) fits in my pocket, and can used any of my cars.
If you fit it yourself, and have the new maps, then its a bargain, but to pay someone else to fit an 8 year old unit, then buy new maps ( if you still can) and end up paying at least the same as a modern GPS doesn't make sense to me.
