    Safe storage/transit of injectors

I'm going to invest in a set of new injectors for my 300Tdi but I want some ideas as to how to store the old ones in surgical cleanliness in case I need them on a trip.

I left a 200Tdi set unpackaged and they accumulated too much dirt/dust.

If your new injectors do not come with protective caps, go see a diesel mechanic - I'm sure they'll part with some caps to do the job. As to the injectors themselves, given that your forum name is the postcode for Solihull, I'll presume that you know that it's way cheaper to buy ERR3339 direct from the UK rather than Australia.

Paddock spares FTW, 37.50 GBP each! I threw the 200Tdi caps out without a second thought

I'll give the old ones a light coating of engine oil, chuck them in a Durex polyurethane and tie it up... perfect

for injector protection if you dont have or dont want to carry a space case for them, coat them in vas or grease, wrap in a lint free rag then stick the business end into a suitable sized piece of pvc pipe, cap the tops with the correct size blanking caps wrap in a rag then give the lot the once over with gaffa tape.

If yours come in the presealed bags when you get the new ones, leave em in there, wrap em in a wrag and again with the gaffa.
