    we used to weld 1/2" angle steel to em so the convoy could drive home...that was early 90's, don't think it would happen these days

    care to bet..... how do you think I know that you can weld the short sides of star pickets over them quite nicely...

    In fact if your in an FFR you dont even need a proper welder..... just the rods, the picket and face mask......

    dont ask why I had welding rods in the FFR....

    and for harry..

    I stay on these topics as they are repair works that I dont get to do often at work and the discussion helps keep tips tricks and specs fresh and while I get to play with landrovers all the time at work its only one type... doing the rounds in here keeps it all fresh.
