Morning All,
Does anyone have a workshop manual for the Bosch VE R509 injector pump in the Defender 130 (1996). And has anyone tried to replace the Viscus Fan bearing in the timing belt cover, seems like a pretty stupid thing to have to replace the cover, for the sake of a $10 bearing.

Thanks for the info, very helpful, with regard to the injector pump. What about the bearings in the timing cover, anyone ? ? ? ?
We have tried to do it. BrendanB on the forum has actually got the bearing out without damaging the housing but the flange is the problem.
It is usually diecast for older flanges making them very brittle. Getting another one is hard because you can't buy them separately which means getting one machined up. This is now getting expensive and if you include the price of the bearing, which is between $85-$115 (British 4x4).
When I did my timing belt I wanted to do this but found the flange on mine broken. The slackers before me left it as is and just stuffed in a bigger bolt so that it looked like it was in. I had to buy a whole new front cover but intend to build up the old cover with a new bearing, flange and seal ready for the next time I have to change the belt etc.
Some on the forum hear have fit grease nipples or use a syringe to inject grease into the bearing.
Have a chat to MR Automotive 07 3284 6688. They have experience with this item
