the trip logging is also great.. which is what that graph came from... my whole journey into work fully logged. This gives me the ability to compare inputs and functions like boost v wastegate modulator operation and i can see that the boost gets capped when it operates, so i know its working. it also allows me to see coolant temps against time / revs etc etc...

remember tho nanocom isnt just a reader.. it clears codes writes engine maps and yes the body control is here soon, so will give full access to the BCU include remote control programming!

sorry that took us off topic a bit.. my graph was to show a relatively normal boost profile!

    Thanks

    Steve

how did you test that it was fully closed andy? i messed with mine but it wasnt totally obvious as to when it was closed? seems wierd it would go so far out of adjustment with the locknut there?

    thanks

    Hi,
Thanks for the info on the Noncom. I hang off a bit longer as I have SLS on the back. Can you open the shuttle valves to bleed the brakes properly with it.

Disconnect the rod fron the Watse gate and move the waste gate lever to the left (front) so you can feel it seating properly. Hook it back up and adjust fully closed with engine off.

This will definitely help the turbo spooling up especially with the EGR removed and a vortex muffler underneath replacing the landrover centre muffler and a fuel remap in the ECU.

If all the wastegate controls are functioning the ECU will look after the max boost pressure it wants by modulation of the wastegate.

If only the TD5 were 600cc a cylinder, a 3 litre 5 cylinder common rail turbo charged deisel with 20:1 compression..look out!!!!

not quite sure why you need to hang off because of SLS? it controls / calibrates / tests the SLS system too, and yes as far as i am aware it does full abs system bleeds, i think possibly even to individual wheels.

after reading one of your posts a while ago i adjusted the nut, but didnt take the rod off, so will try that when i have some time (and say goodbye to the eclip as it pings off!)

i wouldnt want the td5 to be a nissan engine its got more than enough grunt! well should have by the time we have all finished! intercooler and new hoses i think are the next thing. i have also been told intercooler water spraying works wonders.. but i can see that being a tad messy...

    Hi Steve
I undid the locknut after a good spray with freeze/release then turned the adjuster till it started pulling on the acuator rod.
Just droped the radiator back in thismorning, will let you know how it goes tonite!!!
BradM,grab one, already does all the SLS,more to come with the BCU,after a limited play with min as a standalone Im really impressed, cant wait to use a laptop on it.See Electronic Diagnosis, there is a thread there for people who missed out and may be interested in another run. From what Stuart tells me,we got the last ones at almost cost!!!
