    d2 suspension q's

my d2 has yellow non-labelled springs and white un-labelled shocks. does anyone know what companies use these colours? i'm curious to see what they might be, and what sort of rep they have. to my bum the car sits flat and firm-yet never rough, but seems like a well matched setup. is roughly 2" higher than stock too. any help will be muchly appreciated. thanks.

I can't answer your q"s about the springs and shocks but if you've had a 2" lift I'd suggest that you check the clearance between your front drive shaft and the chassis cross member with the wheels at full extension (droop).
I was under one a few days ago and they were touching. There is a fix by fitting a couple of spacers between the chaccis and the cross member.
This seems to be something that people overlook when altering suspension set-up.

fair enough. ill check it out.
with a lift kit though isnt it really just altering the static sag of the suspension? whereas u might have had 150mm compression travel and 100mm down travel its now 200comp and 50down.

Exactly right. You shouldn't have a problem touching unless the shocks are longer.

PM Slunnie about this, he's solved the crossmember problem, has longer shocks, and an engineering certificate passing it all.

King Springs are yellow. I haven't got them on my Disco, but I fitted a full set to our Commodore and have always used them for my circuit cars. They are a very good spring and the fact that they are made locally (to me anyway) means they can be customised to suit specific requirements. Can't help with the shocks.

There are numerous configurations for achieving the lift. Some may not have a problem with the cross member but the one I saw a few days ago did and from Max's comment about Slunnie "he's solved the crossmember problem", it appears that he also had the problem.
In any case, as I said earlier, it's an easy fix with a couple of spacers.
