What paint for IIA steel wheels?

I'm intending to have some rusty SIIA steel wheels abrasive blasted.
The next question is: What type of paint is best suited to the application?
    What is the most durable?
Is plain white the correct colour?

    cheers

1: Depends on what you want. Originally they were the same type of paint as the rest of the vehicle, so for originality you would do the same. Powder coating is good but expensive, dip galvanising, and probably no more expensive.

    2: Dip Galvanising

3: No. Depending on model and vintage the "correct" colour is either body colour or bronze green or limestone from memory. Plain white was never a standard colour for either body or wheels.

What John said. I have done 3 sets so far - galvanising is definitely the best option. You can still paint the outside over the top if you want the correct colour (use etch primer first).
