    Floor mat debacle!!

Hi, Anyone ever had this happen?

Took off up the road this morning in the 130 tray back, and pressed the clutch in to change into third and the thing did a million revs, scared the crap out of me, after a rugged change i went for the next one , same thing again, Pulled over thinking the acelerator cable must of stuck, had a look everything seemed ok, so hopped back in and off again things were fine, Until about 5ks up the road, and it did it again so thought must be the cable sticking , and flew over to the landy joint and bought a newie. Put it on did a test run u beauty she's fixed, until pulling into the driveway and grabbing first gear ,off it went again!!!. Turns out the floor mat was moving up and down as i got in & out the stop adjuster was catching on the mat and not letting the pedal return. What a dumb chit i am for not looking at that,So if anyone has there 300tdi go ape chit like that , BEWARE of that flamin floor mat!!

    Cheers Sumo.

Same think has happened in the Mrs X-trail - clutch was held down just enought to make the car go, but it was slipping big time...

Only the other day, my daughter said that her car had no pick-up. Had a look, & yep, the mat had rolled & was under the go-pedal. That explains why she was done by a red light camera.....
