I would much rather have my winch bolted direct to the but I repeat IT CAN"T BE DONE. If some one who knows how to put pics on this forum wants to PM me an email address, I will send some pics for them to post on my behalf and hopfully end this dispute.

I'm following this thread with interest as I have the same Bar. Fitted it to a non air bag disco
I've uploaded a couple of pics. I noticed that on the Arms that connect to the chassis has a couple of extra holes, I would presume that this is where a cradle would attach to. see yellow arrow.

I bought it recently and noticed a Disco parked with the same winch and had a gander at the winch installation. I noticed that on that Disco the winch was BOLTED DIRECTLY TO THE winch.
The Deluxe Bar has 2 openings at the front.

The bar in the above post is the bar that has the winch mounted to the front of the bar. This bar is different from mine.
The cradle bolts between the chassis using the same bolts that hold the bar on.

It'sNotWorthComplaining! if you PM me an email I will send you some pics.

This is my ARB and I'm positive there is not enough space given to mount a winch I would dare say this bar needs a cradle IMHO

    Dullbird,
Spot on. This is what my bar looks like. The winch has to go on a cradle. Has your bar got the "W" cut out in the top for the solenoid box?

    Hi DB,

That is the new style ARB winch bar. I believe it is the only one made now as you cannot get the non winch bar for the Disco1 AFAIK.

That particular one is only about 18 months old.

They have been around longer than 18 months. I purchased my Disco in Dec 2005 and it came with the bar.

I meant DB's bar in particular. Not the design.
