QLD law states that the mudguards/mudflaps on a vehicle must provide protection from water, rocks etc........
The length is determined by drawing a line at 20° to the ground from the centre of the wheels contact patch towards the rear of the vehicle. The departure angle of a Landy being about 40° means mudflaps are a must. You are allowed 300mm clearnce to the ground from the bottom of the mudflap as long as it intersects the imaginary 20° line.
Now here's the problem. I used to have mudflaps on the 110 but because they are so close to the rear wheels they kept getting pinched between terra firma and the donuts when reversing off road and subseqently they are no more.
Question is this. Can D90 mudflaps be fitted to the D110 Td5 rear cross member without fouling the exhaust tailpipe?
I would love to know before I go to a stealer with a kidney to buy some.
Cheers,
Ray
Thanks for the photos Paul.
Looks like the exhaust comes out in a totally different place. Mine would be right in the centre of the mounting bracket.
I could cut a big hole in it but it wouldn't look too good
Looks as if I need to come up with a plan B

Before you go to the stealer, go to Clark Rubber.
You can get heavy rubber with a canvas centre laminate which will last much longer. No fancy LR logo, but mobs cheaper. I did and whilst they curl a wee tad, it's not enough to worry about. I used my stuffed OEM's as a template.
Cheers
can't you cut your tail pipe and reweld in a different position so it doesn't fowl, for example if it comes out and kicks to the left cut it turn and reweld so it comes out and kicks to the right....,, would that not give you a bit more play??
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
Go to the local exhaust joint and get a 90* bend and cut it off close to the bend itself so you end up with a tip that directs the exhaust in a downward direction or out to the left, where ever you want and then cut the end off you tail pide and weld the new tip on.
Cost will be about $10 if you weld it yourself or about $30 to get the exhaust joint to do it for you.
This is good for you in 2 ways, first is that it will mean that the exaust wont foul the mud flap and it will also direct diesel fumes away from anyting that you are towing.
I have done this to 3 cars that the owners were complaining about getting carbon all over the front of their trailers/caravans or up the back of their 4wd.
