For Mr 4x4v8: No, the wires have to stay put. Which makes it a bit difficult to solder in situ. Hence the 'fiddley' term.

Where do you get your crazy idea's from??? under a rock in the Pilbara
    Jaguar parts.
Given Ford did that to Jaguar, I would "assume" Land Rover had the same deal!

Now, if you go to the "rock in the Pilbara", you may see this under it!

Jaguar, Land Rover could replace Ford parts with Mercedes ones

<snip> In recent years, Ford has combined parts and even powertrains of Jaguars and Land Rovers. It has agreed to continue supplying key parts and components to Tata. <snip>.

    Now, Mr sclarke,

Will you please research your reply next time, before hitting the send key. It may save your embarrassment.

    I stand by my comments.
    D1 were manufactured from 1989 to 1998, then D2 from 1998 to 2004

Ford had no input in the D1 and the d2 was already designed and built....
They dont retool for the sake of it...

I'd be guessing that ford and land rover sourced there mirror motors from the same factory in China, land rover came out the front door and ford out the back door
