I have finally finished installing and tweaking the setup of the Ver4 wolf ecu on my 4.6ltr. I have been chipping away at it since feb and have changed direction a couple of times before settling on this final setup.
Im running a Honeywell GT1 Halleffect and a trigger-wheels 36-1 trigger modded to a 4+1 set, the ignitiors are M&W ECU2 twin channels firing the coils in a wasted spark config, Im now running bosch 4 orifice dual pattern injectors (ala ba ford 6cyl) They are a dream to use and provide much better afr control and stable idle than the drainpipe's lucas call injectors......
The car has a TON of torque now and will chirp all four tires on dry bitumen from a standing start. This is relativly untuned (12.5afr at WOT and 14.7 at cruise) and only running 25deg max timing so there is plenty more left in it
Im running a tech edge 2ZJ wide band controller with on board display and a bosch 7057 sensor.
Jezzaol's 4.6ltr is next, although he is running a ver3 wolf, but all the same hard ware and when thats done and dusted Taf's Country is getting the same deal as mine, These guys are definatly going to be impressed with how it performs......
What amazes me the most is the super super stable idle and starting. The ecu was reading 6deg's C of coolant and air temp this morning and 530 am and the rangie fired straight up and idle at a stable 850rpm, drop the car into drive and i maintains 750 rpm with no other idle control other than timing and fuel. The extra air solenoid isnt even connect at the moment!

Coil packs and ecu location:
Wide band gauge and wolf controller location (again sorry for the bad pics, i will get some more tommorow during the day)
You dont do many river crossings, yea?
By the way, its impossible to chirp all 4, unless you had you centre diff lock locked and fron and rear lockers engaged
You road tuneing or dyno?
Yeah i have thought about the coil locations, IMHO water's for boats....I have had it running with the garden hose trained on the coils and it didnt miss a beat. The coils may get reloacted but i dont want to expose them to, too much heat if possible.
Chirping all four....not that oldl chestnut again.....I didnt say all four at the same time......
I should have said it'l chirp a tire on each axle at the same time and has IN TOTAL chirped all four.....
I will do as much road tuning as i can then whack in on my mates dyno
Sensor mounting bracket and trigger disc, i also forgot to mention i will also be running an onboard knock sensor with timing reduction. The sensor is a run of the mill bosch unit and the controller/amp is a $23 jaycar kit that translates the voltage poduced into a 0v-5v voltage. The wolf has a external timing trim in put that allows timing to be retarded based upon the voltage supplied to the input. Im looking forward to playing with this because i plan to tune on 95 ron and run 91 ron if required.
I looked at much the same, except Microtech, when I was going to supercharge the 351 I had in the tray.............the only thing I never did and the 1 I probably should have, even had the blower
But sold it for a heap more than I paid for it![]()
Hmm possibly the longest blower drive snout i've ever seen.....![]()
Ever taken much notice how far from the centre of the manifold, the snout needs to reach to get to the front on a windsor
Was a complete kit from a 302, I was going to make another manifold for the 351
