    Series 3 Brake booster

The series 3 this morning appears to have sprung me a fresh surprise after many knm of good service. I'm not 100% sure because of the weather today, but i'd say that my brakes are no longer boosted!

Any way of checking for sure without pulling it out? Keep in mind I haven't even opened the bonnet to check that the vacume line is still attached.

How hard to swap them over? The one that is in there is a 2nd hand one from a wreck anyway.

    G'day Phoenie,
    1. Deplete the vacuum by pumping the pedal several times with the engine turned off.
    2. Keeping your foot on the pedal start the engine; if the booster is working the pedal will sink down a bit.

Check all of the vacuum hoses for hardness or splits; replace as necessary. Usually not a big deal to remove and they can be reconditioned by brake specialists. When you get it off, give it a shake to see if there is any brake fluid inside it, in which case the master cylinder will need repairing as well,

    Cheers Charlie
