Not a good sight Peter.
I have a 110 on the hoist ATM that needs a new stub axle and bearings due to water ingress. Completely collapsed the LHF inner bearing. The disc rotor was rubbing on the swivel housing and it had a VERY low brake pedal.

Again, as Peter mentions, water is NOT a good friend to bearings. Take heed Carlos, Tim, etc. (Maybe we should have a LR bearing maintenance day????BBQ and Bearings at 2/34 Browns??)

Recently replaced the wheel bearings on my baby and one thing I noticed when taking of one of the rear hubs was a lot of oil/grease crap leaking from around the hub seal. Knackered seal I thought. Wrong. The seal had been set too far into the hub. The seal has two lips. One to keep the dirt out and the other to keep the lube in. By pushing it in too far the inner lip, the one that keeps the grease in, wasn't seating on the shaft. Luckily no water had got in. Replaced everything anyway. The annoying thing is this is the side that the stealer looked at when they found the first seal leaking and replaced it under warranty!!

I believe this is what caused the nasty noises that forced me to return home from a weekend trip. I thought the front bearings were bad. Funny that it was drivers side only passenger side fine.

that's not awheel bearing problem, this is a wheel bearing problem



yes, my car. rusted out bearings and the wheel came off at very low speed.

OMG , surely that didn't end up with wheel there, it must be a setup.

that's what I thought when I got out of the car (rather shakily). the speed was such that she just came off and rolled under and stopped.
