    Rubbing Tyes and Steering Stops...

I've noticed recently that my front passenger side tyre rubs against the radius arm when my steering is a full lock left.

I'm using BFG ATs (235/70R16) on standard Disco rims and have a 2" suspension lift but haven't had a problem with rubbing before.

Other than not steering as much to the left, how do I stop the rubbing? Do I need to adjust my steering stops or something and is it an easy task? My car was in Graeme Coopers for a thorough inspection recently so I am assuming the steering stops are there and not broken else they would have spotted that.

    Thanks in advance...

BTW, "Search" wasn't my friend again before anyone suggests that...

adjust the steering stops or just not turn too far.

Mine does it as well, not a big problem though really.

Bent steering arm? Or whatever that bar that runs parallel to the axle is called.

    Simon.

Track rod is the name you are after, and yes, it could be that, or could be a worn stop or loose swivel pin allowing it to turn just a little further.

Aha!! Yes, the track rod - I bent that q few months ago and a temporary fix was done by one of my usual mechanics.

The track rod was replaced more recently and I am guessing that any adjustment made to the steering stops to compensate for the bent tracking rod wasn't 'undone'. I'll have a buthcer's tonight!
