    Hub Oil

Yes, I did a search and found plenty about using oil in hubs instead of grease, and it sounds good. I was wondering what anyone thought about using something like BP Hypogear 85w-140 instead of the usual 80w-90. It gets pretty hot up here so I thought it might help, though of course Series vehicles have racked up millions of kms with 80w-90 in their hubs.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.

A few of us use 80W-140 in the Sals diff anyway and that's what migrates through to my wheel bearings

There would be very few if any LR's that didn't have diff oil, swivel hub, wheel hub oil all mixed in together. To me it's a waste of time changing seals, oils etc.60 weight oil(80/140) from disc to disc. Pat

I know a few people who use 80-140 in their axles.

If you read the workshop manual it states that 80/140 oil is prefered when average temps are over 35degrees. Pat
