Love the feeling of popping back into 5th and being confident enough to pass Toyoissans(love the stupid look on their face too) in the overtaking lanes on the ranges.

    Good Luck with your decision....

Now I drive mainly in 4th and 5th gear, including on hills, feathering the throttle. No longer have to press hard on the accelerator to make her go. Overtaking is now a breeze and usually don't even have to change down from 5th. I have a feeling that a V8 Discovery II would have serious problems trying to keep up with my Td5. I wished I had done it ages ago.
I have now purchased a larger Intercooler from the UK, TGI air filter, Silicone Turbo Intercooler hoses, Turbo Booster (20+ psi ) and EGR removal kit. I can't wait to see what happens after I fit them. I am going to send my ECU to Gary Wood at Td5 Alive in the UK and get it reprogrammed and then sell the Venom off. Then I will have what the Poms call a Stage 2 performance tune. WoooHooo
All very nice stories, but the thread is about petrol derivatives

Awesome result Ron, have you got better economy on the highway now?
How is it all going now, 8 months later, still happy, any dramas?
    Cheers, Tim.
