Dammit, I thought I answered this one...
Kings & Lovells have a higher grade steel.
It was a new grade, stronger, capable of higher loads in lighter diameters...
My custom rear coils in the defender were made of it to allow thinner wire and no coil bind...
Old Man Emu coils are made by King's for OME, same coil's just different rates, lengths and colours.Dammit, I thought I answered this one...

I've tried Lovells and don't rate them, still on now can't wait to get them off(yes tried 3 different combos before callng them crap).
Interestingly ARB biggest selling suspension is for Land Rover, number one selling locker too, evn more interesting is that OME LTR shocks biggest market is Mongolia.I would not touch OME on a LandRover. Good on a Nissan but poor on a Land Rover for some reason.
P.S Shock wise don't bother with OME shocks as listed in there book, export only Land Rover shocks are N174 front, N175 rear are 60mm longer than standard and are really great shocks.
As for the original question - OEM or King Springs... Theres no comparison - King Springs EVERYTIME.
As for shocks - I really rate the Tough DOg Foam Cells and Ralphs.
Regards,
Jon
Thanks but too late, Rich installed the OEM HD springs last week. I'm sure I'll be fine, the original non-HD survived 11 years with a roo bar, bonnet mount and a lot of corrugated kilometres. I would have saved money if I went with Kings but that's life.
Ive only driven round the suburbs but it feels good!
