    Bell housing bolt pattern?

Does anyone know if the bolt pattern joining the 3.5 V8 to a ZF auto in a 1988 Range Rover is SAE standard, and if so, what SAE Number? May have to get involved in an engine swap using a SAE No.3 pattern on the new engine.

I would think it is a standard bolt pattern for all v8 rovers as you can bolt a 4.6 upto a lt77 or the old 4 speed CRR gearbox
Only difference i see is the spigot bearing size
    If thats what you mean

No, I could be getting involved in swapping a different make engine into a 1988 RR with ZF. New engine is SAE No.3 housing. If bolt patterns are SAE then an adaptor plate can be pre-fabricated without reference to engine or trans.
