    Pulling an LT95

I'm about to pull an LT95 through the floor. Where is the best place to the ropes around he gearbox to ensure good balance an not to damage anything? Also the LR manual says to remove the cross member, but having a look I cant see why, 'cos the bellhousing would appear to clear the member, Is it necessary to remove it?

you generally dont lift an lt95 out through the floor you drop it down out of the chassis.

you dont take the member out from under the bell housing theres one that runs under the box at about where the tcase would join on if it wasnt integeral to the assembly.

what are you pulling it out of?

    ok...

excluding the fact that Its a SWB Series landrover chassis cross member 3 is the one that should be under your bell housing and there should be another under the box at #4.....the one under the bell housing stays, the second one comes out (cept in a series that one you dismantle the seatboxes and floor then lift the trans back and up) then you drop the box backwards and down.

the point of balance for the box is behind the shifter mech about where the low rage lever sits and over to the drivers side so if you rig an endless sling with a snotter hitch towards the right hand side of the box it should just about balance.
