    Hi Frank,

    Some photos here:

Outer Limits 4x4 Board :: View topic - LT95 oil Filler

As I understood it the brass level plugs for the gearbox and TC were drilled and tapped for common domestic plumbing fittings and joined by a copper tube.

The tube had to be removed to check level (only one now) or refill. Wouldn't be much of a hassle.

    cheers, DL

And while on the subject of gearbox oils, the drain plug for the TC is not sealing properly . what do others use to stop the drips?

T/X case, Red Line light weight gear oil. It's thin enough to flow and get the heat out of the intermediate shaft bearings and bronze thrust washers.

the good book says that for an ambient temperature of -10 to +35 deg you should be using one of the following;-
    BP VISCO 2000 15W/40
    VISCO NOVA 10W/40
    CASTROL GTX 15W/50
    DUCKHAMS 15W/50
then you get into a whole lot of others i've never heard of, but they are mostly 10w/40
this is for both boxes, gearbox and transfer. i was told by a guy who's rebuilt more landy gearboxes than i've had hot dinners that htey have a mechanical oil pump in them that is driven by a square-drive plastic coupling, apparently that use of thicker oil causes this drive the become chewed out and no longer works. the oil will still get around but not as well.
