    Holden engine conversion

Im looking at a 1980's County V8 with a very tired V8 and wanted to know what was involved in doing a Holden 6cyl conversion because they are easier to keep going and cheaper to run Im told
Ive also been looking at a Rangie but Im not sure I want a V8 because I want to afford to drive it

Ford 4.1 would be nice and been done.
    Put it on gas though.

Holden 3.3 just does not have what it takes, some earlu series landies have them but they go pretty slow and not much more economical.

Put in a good 3.9 rover, put it on gas and it will be cheaper to run than a subaru forester.
    I know, i done it .

    all the best.

Get a diesel version. The earlier ones had a VM diesel.

    Not a VM.
Don't do it, you will regret it forever.

They were stationary motors retro fitted to suit and just never worked well.

Had one also and the heads which there are 4 individual ones are crap.

DO NOT PUT A GMH 6 IN IT. You will hate it more than I do Tony

Rebuilding the County V8 will be cheaper and easier than fitting a Holden 6. I doubt there would be much difference in fuel costs.

Why do people think a 6 will be more economical than a V8? Is it the media and their use of the term "gas guzzling V8"?

My fuel injected 4.6 Rangie V8 is more economical than my earlier carbied 3.5 Rangie.

And who told you some japper owner i guess
Nah stick with the rover v8 or dare i say put another breed of v8

It wont be any cheaper to run with a hol 6 than the v8 and you will also miss the torque of the v8
