Finally, for the 'ducks' bill vent in the LH wheel arch, I lubricate that with rubber grease (Cindy the inflatable finally comes in handy!) and that seems to keep the water out.

This is what i did when i drowned my Disco, not as bad as you though, but enough to wet the carpet, wash the carpet, then dry it.
I use fans to dry mine, make sure you lift it to get underneath, just taking the trim off that holds it down is enough.
