find the shortest safe route... the longer it is the less you broadcast...
Hi guys,
I'm installing a UHF radio in the defender 110 on the side wall of the box between the seat and I'm wondering what would be the best way to get the Coax cable of the antenna to this location.
Any suggestions?
Cheers and thanks

I ran ours around the engine bay, along the chassis rail and came up under the cubby box where there is a ready made hole with grommet. Cubby box is removed with 4 screws. I also have our auxiliary fuse block mounted under there.

Where's the aerial located?
Like Inc said shortest route. Through a cable grommet and hole under the seat area (find or make one). That would cover most mounting spots.

Same as numpty...from bullbar, chassis rail, up through the floor.
The aerial is located on the bullbar and I have no issues with performance. The radio came supplied with 5 metres of coax, so I presume it is fine to use at least that much.

Hi guys, will got from the bull bar to the cubby box,
thanks for your help!
Make sure it is cable tied nice and secure. My first cable ended up in the front prop shaft.
Served me right for not securing it.
Mine just goes straight through the engine bay (well around the side actually) then through one of the rubber cable grommets near the top of the firewall. Then down through the dash and under the rubber floor mat to the cubby. Probably a slightly shorter route than underneath the car.
