300tdi Engine block coolant drain tap

    G'day,
I have had a look through the manual and I can't find any mention of a tap for draining the block when changing coolant.
If there is one, could someone enlighten me as to where I could start to look.
    Many thanks

300Tdi block drain plug is a 1/2" spanner size plug, near the first core plug, Passenger side front side of block. Look down where the dipstick tube runs and there it is, halfway down the block. It is brass, and has a copper washer under it. Easiest way to remove it is to undo the dipstick bracket and move the stick to one side, and use a 3/8" drive bar and ratchet with a wobbly extension connected to a 1/2" single hex socket.

    Enjoy

One litte trick for emptying the system is to first syphon the header tank into a bucket. Then undo the hose at the bottom of the header tank, you can plug your thumb in it whilst you manouver it down and then you can easily direct the emptying coolant into a smaller container.

Only way to truly empty the block would be to pull a welch plug or two... but I wouldnt do that unless they were leaking?

Change it regularly and back flush with the stat out.
