'93 Rangie rough idle, new F/pump & Filter
'93 Rangie all stock standard Australian delivered, going fine 'till fuel pump died while wife was at the local shop, she called RAC patrolman who had a quick look and declared the problem was the pump (Confirmed by myself when pump removed).
Replaced pump with a VN/VP Commodore which I understand is a common swap.
When started it fired up straight away but idle was rough Tacho showed about 100RPM at idle, replaced fuel filter and air filter made no difference, vehicle performs well under load, no missing, no popping/backfiring so assume spark etc is fine.
Checked connection to earth on Pump was clean and tight, connections correct i.e. pump out and pump return correct.
Between pump dying and new pump only person under the bonnet was RAC patrolman and myself, nothing touched by myself assume because RAC guy only had cursory look and it was raining he didn't do much if anything, probably just checked there was spark.
Couple of days prior to pump failing, the Battery died and was replaced but vehicle started and ran fine after replacement, so I wouldn't think this wasn't related.
Appreciate and help....any clues.

SOLVED!!!!!
Solved!!!! I kept thinking it has to be simple, that the RAC guy couldn’t/wouldn’t have done much in the few minutes he was under the bonnet in the rain, so I went through everything I could find and at the point where my wife said he fiddled before he declared the fuel pump dead I found the small molded hose was broken on the Branch of crankcase breather going to the inlet side of the Plenum, replaced it and it runs just like it did before
