Thread: Disco (1) 300tdi lift pump Dead ????

My 300 tdi primer lever just moves up and down with no resistance and does not pump fuel when using primer. ( Have removed pipe and checked nil fuel flow). Vehicle runs fine. Should I change pump or let it go.

Try cranking the engine a little as the cam may be holding the pump full travel. The lever only works the cam unloads the pump. Thats the case with my 200 TDI anyway. This is assuming the 300 TDI lift pump is mechanical.
