    Type of oil Auto freelander

    Could someone tell me what type of oil goes in the auto gearbox on a 2002 petrol v6 freelander. Next door wants to know. I had a google but got nowhere. I posted in the Freelander section but I'm not sure if anyone goes there.

    All the recommendation tools on most of the popular sites (Mobil, BP, Shell) said:

    Manufacturer recommends Texaco N402 or equivalent.

    Search Texaco N402 and you'll get a lot of MG/Rover forum discussions. (Infact 3 hit for an 02 freelander)

    Could visit a dealer and get them to sell it, or fill your own bottle, LNR402
