    Rear Door

    Hi All
Has anyone tried to adjust the rear door on a Disco I would love to have a go at mine as the B****** thing leaks dust quite badly.
    Regards

There was a service call on this where the dealer needed to fit an adapter/modification to the seals "If the customer complained"

I guess if you could find out what they fitted, it may solve the problem for you

Are you referring to the Disco 1? If so, LR released a "double lip" door seal. I fitted this and it made a great difference.

There is a fair bit of seal crush to be gained by adjusting the striker 'stud' inwards. 8mm hex key loosen it, then gently tap inwards a few mm at a time (towards front of vehicle)with hammer, retighten and try it.

I have even resorted to twisting the whole top of the tailgate in at the top to aid in the dust sealing issue. (Only a little bit, it works well)

Make sure the seals haven't pulled away from the top corners of the body, they have a habit of shrinking and leaving a big gap. I removed the seal and reinstalled it from the top corners down, dont try stretching it too much, if you have a gap at the bottom centre after doing above, just fill gap with silicon, and check the bottom sills behind the rear wheel well s, there is a big rubber bung in there that may be missing, Regards Frank.

    Hi All
Thanks for the replies i will try the striker plate adjustment but i think i might have to try the twist adjustment as well. The dust ingress was quite bad on the last trip and will have to look at it before another trip maybe new seals as well.
    Regards
