    Defender Electric Windows

    Hi all,

I know I'm going to get sledged for this but here goes....

I'm thinking of getting one of those power window kits they have on eBay to install in my Defender.

Has anyone had any experience with these? Do they work well?

    Thanks,

    Nathan

Have a look in the good oil section - you'll find the answer in there.

Another kit here (this one is a more complete replacement of the mechanism from what I can deduce from the pics etc)

Electric Windows - Land Rover Defender EW Kit

I am thinking of doing the same as you for my County. The position of the after market aircon makes it impossible to wind the front passenger up once wound down.

However I think my existing mechanism on the passenger side is completely stuffed so I might have to reach for the credit card.

I'd be interested to hear how you go with the mod.

I've had similar problems with my A/C and the window winder.

I'll try out this $200 unit (front windows only) from eBay and see how it goes.

O know this is 4 years late but did you go ahead with the ebay kit for the windows and how did it go?

Thx, I should have mine delivered tomorrow. Any tips? Where did you fit the switches. I'm installing central locking as well, do you think there will be space?

I've got central locking as well - all fits in. The electric window motor just mounts on the inside skin and the door trim pretty easily just goes over the top of it - fits easier than you think it will - I think the door trim just kind of stretches over it.

I mounted the switches on the door - less wiring that way.

    Good luck!
