Simple answer is no.
More technical answer is that if it was to be and exempt trailer in Vic it has to be within the width of the vehicle, under 3m long and GVM less than 750kg.
But most camper trailers are generally registered so they can be max width which is 8' I think.
The other thing to think about is that if it is to be used off road it makes it easier if it is within the width of the tow vehicle and make the track the same to make it easier to know where the trailer will be so you dont take it out on things that the tow vehicle makes it past.
