Seems excessive to me, a complete new rad would be cheaper.

Ive asked around a fair bit for pricing and thought i would share some of what i found to help others, i was after a recore or replacement for a 300tdi.

I avoided importing as decent ones seemed to be around the $1000 mark after postage and converting currency.

Rover parts has on their site $400 for aluminium and $600 copper +postage
British offroad $395 alloy core and $598 +postage

    Local quotes for recore:

    ....................................redback 3 core...................adrad 4 core
    first place........................$720................. ................. $792
    second.............................$660

And last place was recommended to me by Mick at redback and the quote was $550 for the redback 3 core which is meant to be as efficient as a 4 core.
hope this info is of some use to someone!!

    cheers
    Jimmy

Maybe at the time the Tdi radiator was from LR & a margin then added ?

I paid $550 for the Redback HD 3 row, 5/8" dimple tube recore, including a new (closed) divider plate in January this year, so the pricing fits in with your quote Jimmy.
