Leak in Disco with AC running

    Hi,
While running the AC in the Disco on a trip down to Nelson over the weekend I found warm liquid running down the carpet on the transmission tunnel.
I Checked its not coolant. Switched of the AC and it went away.
I have to fix to keep the boss happy :-)

    Any ideas

    Cheers,

    Lucas

The A/C drain/overflow pipe is blocked - you need to get under the car and unblock the pipe - somewhere above the drivershaft uni.

Compressed air will do the trick.

As Gary said, blocked condensate drain. Especially after a winter of non use.

Compressed air is okay, but it can blow **** onto the evaporator coil and that is not required.

The best way, in my opinion is the old fashioned pipe cleaners - they do the job and even if you poke them too far up the pipe they won't damage the coil.

After you have cleaned them spray a little tea tree oil up the pipe, this does two things - 1) Kills any bacteria and 2) reduces the chance of debris build up again (lubricant in the tea tree oil)

If you can't get tea tree oil then use CRC or WD 40 - but sparingly - the smell isn't as good as tea tree - but it certainly reduces the chances of blockages building up

Yep, drain is blocked or was pushed inside of cabin rather than drain outside.

Its always a good habit to run aircon unit every 4-6 weeks. Even in winter.

Keeps things moving and no nasty surprises in summer when everyone wants to get theirs fixed.
