    Lowering brake lines?

    Hi all
I am in the prosess of fitting my new 3" coils and when i flexed it out the brakelines were very tight
I'm on a tight budget and was wondering if anyone has lowered the top mount instead of buying extended units??
I have heard of it being done, but don't know for shore

I've done this on the rear of my Disco2, though I'm not sure if it will translate across to your vehicle

You can drill out the spot welds for the brake line brackets, then tek screw them back on lower and "palm" the brake lines down, but take my advice and buy longer lines

    BOOTY FAB lives

I'll send you some nice stainless plates to do it properly (Along with your 6PLA bump pads)

    Woot! Thanks for this Toombie!

I've got extended brake lines on it. This was done when I was running a different suspension setup in 2001 and I've just never removed the spacer links. I was running King 2" springs with 20mm shim spacers under the rear springs and had fitted long travel shocks to it which were a bit beyond the brake lines reach. Admittedly, if you look carefully at the section used to space the brake line mount down and the proper automotive nuts you will see that this is evidence that I didn't make the mod. It would have been much much more booty fabbed if it were me.

or you can make up a solid line extention like i have. the rear of a D1/defender is as easy as extending the ''t'' piece bracket like slunnie has done.

dont worrie their not illegal and the zip ties arnt there anymore, there is a new bulkhead fitting bolted back to the OE bracket.

i did have some spares lying around but i cant find them...

    cheers phil

oh and i think you can buy these from LRA.
