Not sure what you mean buy same compounds. Looking at the web site they have pads for certain aplications.EBC Brakes | Automotive Product Selector | Ultimax, Greenstuff, Redstuff, Yellowstuff, Bluestuff, Industrial, Brake Pads | Car Disc Rotors | Brake Fluid
I welcome constructive discussion on this issue. I dont care if they chop out in 20 000 kms but it has to stop.
Cheers Tony
It's the EBC greenstuff that was woefully inadequate in mountainbikes. Reviews I found of them in small sportscars were also far from positive.
The larger calipers have 25% more piston area, you will not need more aggressive pads with those unless you're running monster tyres or have less than 30kg to apply to the brake pedal.
I'm running mintex pads (the standard items from paddock spares), the larger calipers and vented front rotors. I can lock wheels when I want to, even with a 400kg Isuzu engine and gearbox holding it down.
I have just aquired a 94 Disco salvage so hope it has the booster we need. I have the 110 calipers (Single lines) here now and 1990 vented disc. I think they fit up. I was going to keep the 1989 master cylinder but not sure now.
Where did you get the adjustable proportioning valve from?
Thanks Tony
Have you measured the pistons in the 110 calipers to confirm the piston size? Only a certain vintage 90/110/130's have the larger pistons, the rest are the same size as the average rangie/disco brakes.
Big = 45mm pistons
Normal = 41.3mm pistons.
Matt are you still running 86 RRC solid disc and calipers?
