Distributor swap v8 EFI 93 disco 1
Have been surfing posts and read about a Performance Scorcher distributor being fitted to replace stock one and or a ford v8. Not sure if this was on a carby or EFI engine. Does replacing the distributor make any real difference if the old one is working fine? What are the benefits? Also is this a hard conversion. Thoughts please.

The rate of advance and total advance provided by a distributor must match the engine to which it is to be fitted.
If the distributor advances too quickly for the engine, then pinging is likely.
If the maximum advance is too little then performance and fuel economy is impared.
If the maximum advance is more than is required, then engine damage can result.
If the current distributor is working well......
