R380 Problems
So after a trip out to Harvey I've run into some problems with the gearbox
http://www.aulro.com/afvb/wa-aulroia...nd-harvey.html
I've lost 4th gear and reverse 1st,2nd, 3rd and 5th all work fine easy to shift into no grinding.
When trying to shift into reverse or 4th the gearstick is blocked in neutral tried in high and low range.
drove it 2 hours back to Perth (Thanks go to Dirtydog for following me back incase I lost more gears) with no issues at 100kph+ though the 70kph were a bit of a pain
Any suggestions are welcome
Thanks
Rob

Hmmm... It's been a while since I stripped down an R380 but I say that there's probably something getting in the way of the selector mechanism on the top of the box.
If you do a quick search, you should be able to find the manual in .PDF form to have a quick look through.

hmmmm
After looking into it a bit more I think it might be the bias plate as it occur after a bit of bouncing across the rocks

Well booked it into Discovery Automotive for monday so we'll see what they think of it.
Hopefully it won't be too expensive to get fixed only had the Disco 3 weeks before breaking it

Rob, I had a look on the RAVE disc and if I was you I would have a look myself before throwing $$ at an independant Landrover mechanic.
As 123&5 select perfect the obstruction to 4 & R felt blocked rather than a selector issue..I feel the issue is with the adjuster on the top of the box.
Try phoning Kev at ROVERTECH in Bentley (closer to Leederville) he is a guru with Landrovers.

Pretty sure your right
the gearstick is centering between 1,2 instead of 3,4 which i believe makes it more likely to be the springs/plate
Unfortunately due to work commitments I don't have time to do it myself for a couple of weeks otherwise I'd give it a go
